The Shakespeare Hospice, based in Stratford upon Avon, offers a diverse range of services to patients, and their families/ carers across South Warwickshire and surrounding areas. The Hospice is not just about end-of-life care, we provide support and compassion alongside our patients and their families throughout their journey from diagnosis through to treatment, and survivorship.

Patients and their families can access one or more specialised services; day hospice, hospice at home, adult and children's counselling for pre and post bereavement, transitional care for terminally ill 16 - 24-year olds, and provide spiritual, emotional, and complementary therapies. We pride our offer as one that is all inclusive and embraces not only the patient but their complete support system, family and loved ones.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Shop Manager to join the team at our specialist Bookshop in Stratford Upon Avon. You will work alongside the Assistant Manager to provide support and stable leadership to our staff and volunteer team. Your job will be important in ensuring the shop achieves sales targets by delivering high standards of customer service, fantastic visual merchandising, knowledge and understanding of potential high value collectable donations, and the smooth running of day-to-day activities.

Our ideal candidate will have previous retail management experience with a sharp business mind set and be willing to be an active and leading presence on the shop floor. You should also be skilled at organising, prioritising tasks, and solving problems. You will know what it's like to work in a busy shop or stockroom environment and demonstrate excellent Health & Safety practices.

You will need good interpersonal and staff management skills which will be important to motivate and drive your shop team as you act as a liaison between retail staff, volunteers and customers. Supporting in training, recruitment and project management will also be a key to success.
