Job Description

Purpose of Job:

To work with and support the Manufacturing team in the design and development of documentation recording manufacturing and assembling processes of product lines as a basis to ensure operations educational competence within the manufacturing facility.

Key responsibilities:

  • Enforce correct working practices within the team, such as document standards and control and HSE requirements;
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships and establish strong feedback loops between production, quality, NPI, design and customer service teams;
  • Provide technical support to the manufacturing team on the processes, systems and documentation required;
  • Focus the team to meet delivery, performance, and improvement targets for each project;
  • Improve Right First Time KPI and work towards a zero-defect culture;
  • Improve efficiency through analysis and planning of workflow, space requirements, equipment layout and logistics flow;
  • Consider new and innovative ideas to drive enhanced operational activities i.e. automation;
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements;
  • Drive Continuous Improvement (VA/VE) projects to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality; 

You will have: 

  • The ability to demonstrate a solid engineering background in a fast-paced customer focused environment with at least5years of experience in manufacturing;
  • Experience of developing standard operating procedures and processes;
  • The ability to read and understand all engineering drawings (Solidworks) and associated technical information;
  • Experience of development and automation of manufacturing processes;
  • Experience of multi-discipline engineering skills from fabrication, metal forming through to electrical assembly processes;
  • Experience of continuous improvement engineering;
  • Technical knowledge and experience across a broad range of engineering disciplines and electro-mechanical assembly;
  • Problem solving experience using Root Cause Analysis or other techniques;
  • Exceptional self-motivation and a pro-active confidence needed to identify and prioritise work;
  • Project management skills and the ability to balance short-term firefighting with long term improvement projects;
  • Good communication skills and the ability to produce clear, precise instructions;
  • The ability to work in a team or alone and unsupervised as needed. 


  • Minimum HND or equivalent - a degree in Engineering or a related field is also desirable.
