Bath ASU produces around 2,000 aseptically compounded injectable pharmaceutical products each day for hospitals and patients across the UK who are fighting cancer, living with chronic disease or in need of pain relief.
Pharmaxo Healthcare is a growing clinical homecare provider in an expanding market offering greater convenience to patients whilst delivering efficiencies to the NHS.
Pharmaxo Scientific holds and develops intellectual property, which is currently licensed to the group’s other operating subsidiaries.
Overview
We are looking for an individual with good knowledge and experience of Management Accounting, who is able to improve the efficiency and robustness of existing accounting processes.
Responsibilities to include:
- Preparation and review of the monthly Management Accounts packs
- Prepare and post accruals, prepayments and adjusting journals
- Update the Fixed Asset register and post depreciation
- Invoice shared services to Pharmaxo
- Report expenditure by Cost centre and review with Operations Managers
- Assist with process improvements across the company
- Cash management and review of weekly metrics
- Assist with provision of supporting analysis for the statutory accounts
- Assist with stock takes, reconciliations and investigations
- Reconcile the Balance Sheet on a monthly basis
- Supervise and mentor Management Accountant
- Assist with Budgets and reforecasts
- Other ad hoc tasks as required by the Financial Controller or Group CFO
In addition, the job holder commits to become a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) of a recognised accountancy body and maintain appropriate continuing professional development.
Skills
- Communicates to a commercial level
- Excel skills to intermediate level (vLookups and Pivot Tables)
- Ability to develop new reports/reporting procedures

- Interest in self-development
Knowledge and experience
- CIMA part-qualified or newly qualified
- At least 3 years’ experience working in Management Accounting
- Experience in a healthcare/ pharmaceutical company (desirable)
Accountabilities
Specifically, holders will be accountable for:
- Timely preparation of metrics and graphs for the Management Accounts pack
- Accurate gross margin analysis
- Timely balance sheet reconciliations
