Maintenance Coordinator

Who we are?

YMCA Brunel Group works to prevent youth homelessness in Bath, Bristol, Mendip and South Somerset.

We also specialise in working with children through our nurseries and out of school clubs, as well as working with young people in our youth clubs. We have an excellent health and wellbeing centre at our Bath branch, providing all-inclusive membership packages and pay as you go options.

 

What does the job entail?

 

The successful candidate will ensure that YMCA delivers a clean, warm, welcoming, safe, environment for young people, staff and visitors, within the premises/properties from which we operate, whether owned, rented or managed by the organisation.

The post holder’s specific responsibility will be to deliver an effective and responsive repair & maintenance service across the organisations designated sites primarily covering our sites based in the Mendip area, however travel to all sites will be needed.
(Currently – Lyneham, Chippenham, Calne, Trowbridge, Westbury & Bath.)

As part of the facilities team the post holder will ensure that premises that the organisation, own or use, to deliver its work are fit for purpose, kept to a decent standard and compliant with Health & Safety regulations.

The job holder will have an overview of maintenance tasks across all regions. He will be able to prioritise tasks and direct and support other maintenance staff as needed. Part of his tasks will also be to assist in ensuring availability of materials through suitable accounts at suppliers.

Location

Mendip area.

A van will be provided to the job holder.  If the designated van is in the garage it may be required that the post holder uses their own vehicle temporarily, for which use business insurance is required and mileage will be paid in line with the company’s policy and statutory commitments.

Working hours

 

37.5 Hours Per Week, responding flexibly to the organisations’ needs and completing work when required on the same day.

On occasions a call out may be required additional to the contracted hours, these will be paid at the flat rate of £40.00 for 2 hours work, additional time to be taken as TOIL in discussion with line manager.

 

Salary

£22,000 per annum
