DW Windsor Group is recognised globally as a leading manufacturer of exterior lighting equipment, powered by people with a shared passion for light and committed to delivering outstanding service to its customers.  We are currently looking for a likeminded, driven Junior Bid Manager to join our team in Hoddesdon.

Purpose of Job:

To co-ordinate all aspects of the bid process ensuring that great quality and competitive bids are submitted to our customers.  Build key relationships with our target clients and internal departments.  Assist with the development of the business and work with the Internal Product design teams to optimise products for best value for our customers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Learn all aspect of the tender requirements ensuring compliance in all respects of bid deliverable;
  • Produce persuasive written material using active language;
  • Manage and fulfil the bid management processes, including the following activities:
    • Bid management plans and programmes to deliver a fully compliant bid on time
    • Liaising with colleagues and teams responsible for project delivery
    • Lead bid ‘kick off’ meetings, solution development and bid sign-off meetings
    • Manage inputs from our departments and supply chain, ensuring they are fully briefed and understanding the bid requirements/key deliverables.
      • Writing technical, legal and financial content for proposals and sales collateral
      • Proof-reading / sub-editing and re-writing content
      • Document control and register of clarification responses
      • Keeping up to date library of model answers
      • Carry out customer intelligence gathering
      • Carry out competitor SWOT analysis
      • Preparing risk management documentation for the project tender
      • Develop a win plan for each opportunity
      • Producing a post-bid review and hand over documentation.
  • Work with key stakeholders to generate content for the proposals;
  • Assist with the preparation of presentations and other documents;
  • Produce and update project opportunities in Salesforce;
  • Provide feedback to internal departments on key developments required to grow the business maximising tender award success rate;

 You will have – experience and skills:

  • excellent communication skills – both written and verbal;
  • the ability to work in a team or on your own;
  • the desire to own proposals/bids including running storyboards and devising win strategies;
  • excellent presentation skills;
  • the ability to work under pressure.

     Desirable skills/experience/qualifications – you will

  • be numerate and comfortable working with figures when required, including working with intermediate knowledge of Excel;
  • have some understanding of the principles of framework procurement (experience within the most current forms of procurement is required);
  • hold a BA or equivalent, with preference for a degree in Business, English or journalism or have technical qualifications with a high standard of written communication;
  • have experience in creating Infographics;
  • have graphic skills with an eye for design using either InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop etc.
  • be familiar with a range of commercial, financial and project/service delivery models

 You will be provided training to develop your career in this role and be required to work to become a member of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals.
