Health & Safety Manager – (HSEQ)
Our client is a long-established Construction Company, who carry out a broad spectrum of works from specialised works to churches and listed buildings to mainstream construction and insurance repairs.
They are currently seeking an individual to head up their HSEQ. The HSEQ Manager will be leading all health and safety responsibilities and ensure the company stay compliant and certified to their ISO 9001 quality Management system.
The successful Health & Safety Manager will be a driven, ambitious and self-motivated individual with a solid background in the construction industry. The HSEQ Manager will be based out of their Danbury office, working on projects across the Southeast of England.
HSEQ Manager Position Overview:
- Manage and regularly update the inhouse health and safety systems.
- Carry out site audits and engage with all stakeholders in actively improving the company’s health and safety.
- Manage and oversee all company training and CITB grant applications.
- Prepare for and undertake annual ISO 9001 audits and updates.
- Prepare for and undertake annual certification: CHAS, Safe Contractor, Construction Line Altius, Other SSIP.
- Assist in preparation of PPQs relative to HSQE issues.
- Oversee and update the production of CPP’s, site-specific RAMS & COSHH assessments.
- Deal with all H&S questions and queries
- Carry out H&S Inductions for new staff and become involved with related HR issues.
- Arrange and chair H&S meetings.
- Management of the approved Subcontractor system
- Organise the health safety & fire management (first aid boxes, extinguishers, fire alarms etc) of the various offices/premises.
HSEQ Manager Position Requirements:
- Experience in H&S, Environmental & Quality Management
- IOSH or NEBOSH Qualification
- Technical member of IOSH, willing to work towards full Chartered membership.
- Strong knowledge of HSE and environmental legislation
- Experience in safety, health, environment, and quality management
- Previous experience in preparing and undertaking ISO 9001 audits.
- Excellent communicator at all levels and the functions of the business and a good team player.
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills are essential.
- Good level of PC literacy, Microsoft Office and online portals and be able to manage the in house electronic HSEQ systems.
