Health and Safety Manager (Part-time)

 

£18,391 - £20,186 (SCP 29-32) plus contribution to pension auto-enrolment

(£30,651 - £33,642 FTE)

 

22.5 hours per week (flexible work pattern considered)

About the role

This role helps to protect local wildlife by supporting staff and volunteers and ensuring the safety of the Trust’s working environments for all.

As part of the Business Support team, the Health and Safety Manager will focus on coordinating health and safety across the Trust by providing advice, guidance, support and training for staff and volunteers on all health and safety related matters. The postholder will develop and lead a Health and Safety Strategy for the organisation, keep policy and procedures up to date with legislation and best practice, and encourage a culture of good health and safety practice.

We require someone who has excellent organisational and communication skills, with a friendly approach and great attention to detail, together with an interest in what we do. You must be fully conversant with MS Office and hold (or be working towards achieving) a qualification in Health and Safety such as a NEBOSH certificate or equivalent. Experience of working with volunteers would be an advantage.

A driving licence and flexibility to work occasional irregular hours is required for all posts. The post may be subject to a Disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
