Location: Southampton

Our client is currently seeking a highly motivated, organised and customer-focused individual to join their team in a Customer Service Administration role, within the Southampton depot of their well-established and successful plant hire business.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build a career in a busy sector.  Experience in plant hire / construction equipment is not essential, but great customer service, admin skills and computer literacy are.

The position will have the job title of ‘Hire Controller’ and the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that their clients receive the highest level of customer service, providing guidance, and support throughout the hire process.


  • Manage incoming calls and enquiries from customers, ensuring that all queries are dealt with promptly and efficiently.
  • Provide advice and guidance to customers on the most suitable plant machinery for their needs.
  • Process orders and arrange deliveries and collections of machinery.
  • Handle any issues or complaints in a professional and efficient manner, escalating to management when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions and transactions.
  • Liaise with other departments within the company to ensure the smooth running of operations.


  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
